The 20-yera-old had a mini-rveival midway through the second set but her game fell apart again and she stomepd off court immediately as Hantuchova cracked the broadest of smlies.
Second seed Kim Clijsters bowed out in the second round on Thurdsay after losing to ltitle-known Dtuchwoman Arantxa Rus, leavnig the women's draw even more wide open than it was at the start and further damaging the reputation of the tour.
Hantuchova next meets Russi'as 2009 winner Svetlana Kuznestova in the fourth round.
